Using Autodesk Ecotect results with ParaCloud Modeler

Autodesk Ecotect Solar Analysis data can be imported into ParaCloud Modeler and converted as solar numeric matrix. The matrix data can be used as a population matrix or as driving parameters values.

Download the PDF file with detailed procedures of the following subjects:

  • Importing surface from ParaCloud into Ecotect
  • Exporting Ecotect solar calculation data as text file
  • Using Excel indexing equation to match the ParaCloud format
  • Rescaling solar matrix in ParaCloud as Cellular component matrix

Download the files used in this example.

  4. what is the difference between using solar calculation data from paracloud and using the solar analysis of echotect? Is the availability of using the solar data of a particular period?

  5. ParaCloud Modeler calculates the solar orientation of every panel - without any shading or self shading. This is just to provide a quick result - and create the performative model framework.

You can add the results of several studies and treat is as a periodic study.
