H2O absorber – Michal Piasecki

H20 absorber - a building skin design with a polymesh component

Final project at the master in architecture course at the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia. Studio led by Luis Viu Rebes and Jordi Pages.

H20 absorber is a building skin which serves as a water gathering device. The skin is generated using Paracloud’s polymesh components generation as well as vortex modeller.

Is this particular case a multifunctional tower’s surface in Mumbai got subdivided into 40 sub-surfaces, each of which was assigned a particular component and a curve – a graphical rule that drove the cloud offset in vortex modeller. The curves and the components for every sub-surface are chosen depending on the estimated rain delivery to it.
