PolyMesh ParaCell Components Output to Rhino

ParaClouding: Latest post

A PolyMesh Component will be added to the ParaCell Components System allowing to capture any mesh geometry as a ParaCell.

Renewing your License

ParaCloud licenses require an online renewal on a monthly basis. The new license can be obtained automatically from your registered machine. To renew your license you will need an internet connection.
If the current license is out of date, you will need to delete it. Open the ‘c:\paracloud’ folder and delete the ‘pc-lic.com’ file.

Troubleshoot: ParaCloud Always on Top

Before starting ParaCloud, open Microsoft Excel. Set the Excel application to windows state (Not Maximized) and close the application. Open ParaCloud and use Alt+TAB to switch between applications. Press Windows+D to show the desktop.

Terracing Surfaces

The button creates steps along the profile direction. Choosing the X, Y or Z (in the Offset option) defines the step direction.

Terracing on the Y direction:

Flipping the U and V and terracing the X direction resulted in a voxelized surface:

Multiple Clouds

You can define multiple clouds in a single session, changing from one cloud to another using the new buttons for previous cloud and to move the next one. Moving to the next empty cloud and importing or creating data will generate an additional cloud in the project. All the clouds are saved in the [...]

Finite Element Range Calculation

ParaCloud can calculate the average height of the 8 surrounding cells for every cell in a pre-selected range of the Voxel Modeler Matrix. The calculation iterates 3 times on every click on the ‘FEA Range’ button in the Cloud Processing toolbox.

Meshing and Paneling

Open the Panels Generator Toolbox from the main console. Establish a CAD-link to generate a solution.

Triangular Meshes

The Panels Generator offer 3 triangulation patterns the first two are unidirectional (diagonals pointing left or right) and the third is alternated, creating a diamond effect. The cloud is processed according to its order and not by proximities.
The solution [...]

Populating Components with Performance Matrices

The performance values can be scaled to any range of integer values using an Excel formula. Copying these values to the Components Layout Matrix will trigger a components generation process relative to the performance measurement.
For example, an accumulative solar radiation study of the façade can be used to define the components layout according to their [...]

Creating Performance Matrices

The results of the performance evaluation can be plotted numerically in a matrix layout matching the cloud order. Each quadrangular panel of the main point-cloud is represented in a cell of the matrix.
Generate the visual performance representation as explained previously and press the button to document the values of the curvature analysis or the [...]

Solar Exposure Analysis

Set the Normal and Solar Scale fields in the main console and press the button in the viewer to view the cloud as a mesh. A colored sphere and normal vector will be generated according to the orientation of each triangle of the mesh relative to the Sun vector. The Sun position is set in [...]
